Nigeria: True Politicians or Real frauds ?

By Timi Ogunbanjo

Decades of fruitless years have yielded nothing but pain, sorrow and fury within the minds of Nigerian citizens. On March 28th, 2015, President Buhari was elected into office to bring about ‘hope and change’. Upon being elected, President Buhari has succeeded in accomplishing  one out of eighty one promises to the Nigerian citizens. That being said, politicians in Nigeria have been put in important positions of power, and are thought to bring about change, but that has not been the case in recent years. Despite the economy failing, politicians continue to loot money and lounge about while citizens are subject to a horrible standard of living. I wonder, is this how Nigeria will continue to wallow in abject poverty.

Just recently, Governor Ajimobi of Oyo state has become a prime example of what the typical Nigerian politician appears to be. Having received a tirade of curses hurled at him by protesters, Governor Ajimobi believed the right approach was to aggressively use armed police to arrest a coolheaded protester.
